Underwriters are generally described as risk assessors and decision makers. Charged with profitably growing our company by selecting and writing the business, an underwriter needs to:
- Be intellectually curious
- Have great interpersonal skills
- Be team-oriented to effectively partner with our agent-customers and field sales staff
When an application for insurance is received, if further review is necessary, it is the underwriter's job is to determine if the business should be accepted. They work with agent-customers to satisfy the needs of the marketplace.
